We would like to take this opportunity to tell you about two new additions to our equipment fleet. Below you will find information and photos of our LoDril and our Movax Robotic Vibratory Driver.
The LoDril is best suited to work where no other drill rigs can go. This drill is a heavy duty foundation drill that is mounted on a Koehring Excavator. The rig is ideally suited for installing foundation holes where overhead clearance is limited. The drill also provides additional reach for those projects that you can not access easily. Some special applications have been buildings, under utility lines, on slopes, and roadway slips that require long reach. In the past we have been able to utilize this machine in these special conditions, but the machine has also proven to be very effective under normal drilling conditions.
The Movax Robotic Vibratory Driver is mounted on a Hitachi Excavator. This Driver allows an operator to unload, place, drive and extract sheeting with one machine. The Movax is specially designed for driving sheet piling by utilizing its side grip. The Driver can grip onto the side of the pile to allow you to lace the long sheets together. Once we get the pile driven down to a height the excavator can reach the top, we place the driver on top of the sheet pile and drive the sheeting to the required depth. This has not only proven to be safer procedure, but has improved production tremendously.

This was a slip project in Athens County. We installed a Soldier Beam Wall with wood Lagging. The Beams were set in a 30" Diameter Caisson approximately 32 feet deep. The LoDril's long reach was essential in completing this project. Conventional drilling rigs would require access to within 5 feet of the caisson. This would not be practical on this project.
This was a soldier beam wall in Ross County. Our drill has two kelly bar sets in which we can change within a days time. On this project we used the shorter kelly bars which have a maximum depth of 32 feet. On the Athens County Project, shown above, it was necessary to use the longer bars. The long kelly bars can drill up to 60 feet deep. These additional bars have expanded our drilling capabilities to allow us to meet our customer's needs.
This was an ODOT Bridge Project in Athens County. We installed 48" Diameter Caissons on this three span bridge. The holes were approximately 40 feet deep. The LoDril's design allowed us to install the casing in longer lengths as we utilized its reach capabilities.
This is a sheet piling project we did in Washington County. During high waters, the creek had washed away the roadway embankment. We drove 62 pieces of 20 foot long CZ72 Piling. The enginner's estimate was $76,000.00 and we were able to do the work for $46,000.00. A savings of $30,000.00.
An ODOT Project in Wilmington, Ohio. We had to construct 402 lf of box culvert. It was necessary to drive sheet piling on both sides of the trench for the full length of the culvert. The Movax was able to drive the sheeting to the designed depth of 16 feet. The Movax was very effective as we could grab onto each pile with its side clamp. This was a great safety feature as the project was located in a heavily populated area.
We are constructing a temporary cofferdam for a Dam Rehabilitation Project. The Movax has shown to be so cost effective that we elected to install a sheet pile cofferdam instead of an earth dam. The cofferdam took approximately 90 sheets. With the Movax, we were able to drive them in 3 days.
